Your Guide to Cochrane’s
Must-Attend Events
Starts Here!
Cochrane, it is time to celebrate the people who help make our community feel like home. Seniors’ Week 2026 runs from June 1 to 7, and this year’s local celebration brings together social events, workshops, fitness opportunities, entertainment and community connection for seniors across Cochrane & Area.
This year is an especially meaningful one.
Across the province, Alberta marks the 40th anniversary of Seniors’ Week, a tradition recognized since 1986 and inspired by Alice Modin’s work to honour the contributions older adults make to Alberta communities.
Locally, you can find Seniors’ Week events at:
Seniors on the Bow is one of Cochrane’s community gathering places for adults 50+, offering programming and activities that support healthy lifestyles and active community participation. During Seniors’ Week, the Seniors on the Bow drop-in programs and regular fitness classes are free, making it a perfect time to visit, reconnect or try something new.
SLS Centre is also part of the week’s active-aging focus, with complimentary SLS Centre fitness classes during Seniors’ Week (with drop-in options or free pre-booking online or at Guest Services).
Getting around is easier, too. Ride COLT is offering free rides for passengers aged 60 and over from May 30 to June 7. On-request transit can be booked through the COLT app using coupon code SENIOR or by calling 403-851-5995.
Some events require registration or tickets, so be sure to check the official schedule before heading out. For more details, call Cochrane FCSS at 403-851-2250, visit the Town’s Seniors’ Week page, or connect directly with participating venues.
Whether you are a senior, supporting someone who is, or simply looking for a meaningful way to celebrate community, Seniors’ Week in Cochrane is a chance to show appreciation, learn something new and spend time together in true Cochrane style.
