JOB AVAILABLE – RETAIL SALESPERSON

HOURS
– Casual / Part-Time – Approx. 10+ hours per week
– Hours vary, flexibility is a must.
– This is a summer-focused role to support weekend operations, with strong potential to lead into regular hours in September (Sunday daytime & Monday afternoon).

Quirk Social is a locally owned small business rooted in Cochrane, Alberta. With a passion for supporting local, we launched The Social Spot Marketplace in Historic Downtown, a retail space dedicated to showcasing Alberta-inspired and locally made goods. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where community and creativity come together, while helping small businesses thrive.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Retail Salesperson, you’ll be the friendly face that welcomes customers, helps them discover unique local products, and ensures they have a positive shopping experience. This role is hands-on, combining customer service, sales, and light merchandising.

You’ll also support day-to-day tasks such as handling transactions, restocking shelves, and keeping the shop looking its best. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys connecting with people, takes pride in supporting local businesses, and thrives in a team environment.

This position reports to the General Manager with daily supervision by the Assistant Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Interact with customers and make product recommendations
Process sales through Ricochet & Square, and maintain a balanced till
Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors
Stay up to date on products, promotions, and discounts to confidently make
recommendations and drive sales
Maintain a clean workspace and storefront; assist with office cleaning as needed
Conduct inventory counts and monitor stock levels
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager, General Manager, or CEO

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a retail environment.
Detail oriented, fast learner, ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
Computer proficient – experience with Square & Google Drive a definite asset.
Working knowledge of social media is an asset.
Confidence to initiate and engage in friendly, outgoing, authentic conversations while
maintaining a professional demeanor – non-negotiable 🙂

REQUIREMENTS

Availability to work weekends with some weekdays and evenings.
Must be able to lift up to 20lbs.
