The Town of Cochrane and members of the local World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEADD) will be planting a lilac tree in recognition of World Elder Awareness Day on June 15th at 11am.

WEADD was established in 2006 by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. The purpose of WEADD is to bring attention to the abuse of older adults.

This year, the tree is being planted at the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) building by Councillor Susan Flowers and members of the Cochrane WEAAD committee.
