This year, the Town of Cochrane is recognizing Volunteer Recognition Week in a virtual way, with social media shout-outs and real-life gifts, to nominations made and awarded daily on the Cochrane Programs & Activities Facebook page.
“Volunteers are the heart of Cochrane,” says Mayor Jeff Genung. “This is an especially challenging time, but I know Cochranites want to support each other and are finding creative new ways to reach out and offer support.”
Starting Monday April 20, draws will be held each week-day of National Volunteer Week from that day’s entries, with daily winners receiving a $100 gift card for a local grocery store. At the end of the week, one winner will be drawn from all entries for a $200 grocery gift card.
Recognition prizes are made possible by a grant from the Government of Alberta.
National Volunteer Week runs April 19-25, 2020.
