Sasakamoose by local Cochranite Don Begg


Local artist Don Begg of Studio West Bronze Foundry & Art Gallery in Cochrane, unveiled their latest piece of Indigenous hockey trailblazer Fred Sasakamoose outside of the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon yesterday.

“Sasakamoose dedicated his life to encouraging young people through sport and breaking racial barriers for Indigenous hockey players in the NHL.”

Sasakamoose died in November 2020 after contracting Covid-19.To read more:
