Do you love pretzels like I do?

Warm, chewy pretzels can’t be beat… except when they come from your own oven! BAM!

My friend over at ‘Merry About Town’ (seriously, go check her website out!) introduced me to this easy pretzel bites recipe and now I cannot eat them or make them often enough!!!

Let me know if you try this recipe out – I’d love to hear what your favourite pretzel dip is!

Easy Pretzel Bites

Warm, chewy pretzels can’t be beat… except when they come from your own oven! BAM!

  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 2 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp traditional yeast
  • 4-5 cups flour
  • 2 tsp coarse salt
  • 3 litres water ((for boiling))
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, brown sugar and melted butter. Sprinkle with yeast and let the yeast do its thing for 5-10 minutes, or until bubbly.

  2. Add the flour and salt, being careful to not add too much flour. Start with 4 cups and see if you need more, as it will depend on how dry things are. Knead into a smooth dough, and set aside to rise for an hour. *I used my Kitchen-Aid Mixer for this step.

  3. After the dough has risen, place water and baking soda in a large pot and bring to a boil. *Note: This step was messy!

  4. Prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.

  5. Divide dough into (approximately) 8 equal pieces. Roll into ropes an inch thick, and cut into 1″ pieces.

  6. Boil in batches of 10-15 bites for 30 seconds and remove to a baking sheet with a slotted spoon.

  7. Whisk the egg and brush it over each pretzel bite. Sprinkle with coarse salt. *YUMMY

  8. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, and serve warm with your dip of choice.
