Today the Cochrane Society for Housing Options was presented with a cheque for $2500 from Canlin Energy to help with the costs associated with their housing support worker.

On hand were Paul Singh and Samantha Nickerson of the CSHO board to accept the cheque, as well Wildcat Hills District Superintendent Kevin Hetu and Canlin Energy operations administrator Kaili Dale.

Corrine Burns, CSHO housing coordinator explains, “For those tenants that need a little bit of extra support, we have put this position in place. We’ve had it for a couple of years now, and we’ve found it’s a position that’s essential for us to maintain.”

Nickerson further explains how the affordable housing program works in Cochrane.

“All of the affordable housing in Cochrane is actually done through grants, sponsorships, and the money that we earn at Home Reno Heaven, so these donations are super important because we couldn’t offer affordable housing in Cochrane without them.” said Nickerson.
