Canada Day in Cochrane begins early with a traditional pancake breakfast and a variety of activities. Residents are encouraged to dress in red and white and start their Canada Day at The Royal Canadian Legion, Cochrane Branch, which is hosting a free pancake breakfast from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The morning festivities include live music and a flag-raising ceremony at 11:30 a.m., followed by complimentary Canada Day cupcakes. Members of Cochrane Council will distribute small Canadian flags and tattoos while supplies last. This early celebration is a great way for the community to come together and show their national pride.
In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we live, work and play on the traditional territories of the Iyarhe Nakoda Nations, Blackfoot Confederacy, Tsuut’ina, and the Otipemisiwak Métis Government of the Métis Nation within Alberta District 4.
