co-work·ing

ˌkōˈwərkiNG/

noun

  1. the use of an office or other working environment by people who are self-employed or working for different employers, typically so as to share equipment, ideas, and knowledge.

“the whole idea of coworking is to bring bright, creative people together and let the ideas collide”

Being an entrepreneur is not just about making money, nor is it merely about starting up a venture or owning a small business — it is a way of life. The entrepreneurial road traveled can sometimes be a little bumpy and many small business owners (especially those who are trying to do it all!) may find themselves to be lonely at times.

Connecting with like-minded peers to network and commiserate is needed; however, most coffee shop interactions only get the job started, but rarely fulfill the needs of the business. Having a place where many business-types can come together, interact (and yes, still have coffee) in a meeting space with other shared services, is a way to make the path a little brighter and the entrepreneur, feel not so alone.

Mark Eaton, founder of The Corner Coworking in Cochrane, Alberta was looking for just this. He looked around, but it didn’t exist… so he came up with a plan to see if there were others like him.

Turns out, there were plenty of others just like him!

In less than a year and a half, Mark had amassed approximately 120 others, and transient-style meetings were no longer cutting it. The search began for a space these entrepreneurs could call their own, and now that dream has come to fruition.

Head east on Railway Street and you’ll come across a fabulous building, with just over 2200 sq. ft of collaboration potential. The open-concept main floor hosts some ‘hot desks’ (for those who plan to only stop in a few hours here and there), while the second floor boasts a few private offices.

Bonus Perks >>> If you are a registered business but do not wish to use your home address, you can use the coworking space as your address instead. Also, you have access to the mailing address and can receive deliveries and mail too.

With plans that suit the needs of most entrepreneurs, The Corner Coworking provides a professional environment at a fraction of the cost of corporate office space.

Plus, we hear they even have waffles on Wednesdays.
