Every year, Santa makes one last round of Cochrane before heading to the North Pole for a night of delivering toys, to good girls and boys. Next Tuesday, December 24th, Santa will team up with the Cochrane Fire Services crew to visit neighbourhoods, and he’ll be looking to see which Cochrane neighbourhood is the most festive.
Here is Santa’s itinerary below:
1/ FIRESIDE – Santa will start with your community around 1:40pm. Look for him at the traffic circle by the children’s red park between 1:45pm to 1:50pm. He will then make his way to Fireside Way, Fireside School, Fireside Parkway, Fireside Drive and then leave via Fireside Blvd.
2/ WILLOWS – Your community is Santa’s next stop! He won’t have long to stop, so you’ll want to be at the play park south of the traffic circle at Willow Park promptly from 2:05pm to 2:10pm. Santa will then make his way to River Heights via Willow Street and Willow Drive.
3/ RIVER HEIGHTS (RIVERSONG NORTHSIDE) – Santa hits up the River Heights play park on River Heights Blvd from 2:20pm to 2:30pm!
4/ RIVIERA – Santa will make a 10 minute stop at the Riviera Play Park from 2:35pm to 2:45pm.
5/ RIDGE VIEW (RIVERSONG SOUTHSIDE) – Though Santa will not be stopping in Ridge View, he will stroll through around 2:55pm via Ridge Gate and Ridge View Close.
6/ BOW RIDGE – After a bit of a trek from Ridge View, Bow Ridgers can expect to see Santa around the toboggan hill at 3:10pm (for a 5 minute stop), where he will then do a loop of Bow Ridge Road to Bow Ridge Crescent, back to the toboggan hill and out.
7/ BOW MEADOWS – There is no stop planned for Bow Meadows, but Santa will be doing a tour of Bow Meadows Drive around 3:20pm.
8/ WEST TERRACE – You can expect to see Santa for a 5-minute stop at Quigley Drive & Mitford Public School/Cochrane Christian Academy, from 3:30pm to 3:35pm. He will then head down West Terrace Road and back to Quigley Drive to exit.
9/ GLENBOW – Santa has your neighbourhood next on his list (he’s heard all about those amazing Christmas lights on Glenpatrick Drive!) and will make his way down Glenpatrick Road to Glenbow School for 3:45pm to 3:50pm. He will then head out via Glenpatrick Road to Fifth Avenue.
10/ RIVERVIEW – Even though Santa will not be stopping in Riverview, he wouldn’t miss driving through for the world! Look for him from 4pm to 4:10pm on Riverview Drive and around Riverview Close.
11/ DOWNTOWN – Cochrane has grown so much bigger over these last years and touring around the town definitely takes much longer! Santa will have worked up an appetite and after making his way down 1st Street W (Shell Gas to Rockyview Hotel), he will then make a ‘Milk and Cookie’ pit-stop at the Cochrane Coffee Traders.
12/ COCHRANE HEIGHTS – You are next on Santa’s list and can look for him touring around the tri-schools at 4:35pm. Santa will not make a stop at this location.
13/ HEARTLAND – Santa will eagerly make his way to last year’s Community Spirit Winners via Heartland Way to the traffic circle at Heartland Blvd, from 4:50pm to 5pm.
14/ HERITAGE HILLS – Santa will make his way to visit your community via Heritage Gate to Heritage Drive, with a stop at the children’s play park from 5:10pm to 5:15pm, then on to Heritage Blvd, Heritage View to Heritage Drive.
15/ SUNSET RIDGE – Santa will enter Sunset Ridge by St. Timothy’s School at 5:30pm, then he’ll make his way up to Sunset Blvd to the children’s play park at the pond for a 10 minute stop from 5:35pm to 5:45pm.
16/ GLENEAGLES – After making the big trek down one hill and up another, Santa and fire crew will hit Gleneagles via Gleneagles Drive, Glenvista Place and Glensummit Close, with a 5 minute stop from 6pm to 6:05pm.
17/ EAST END – Last but not least, Santa will finish up his tour in the East End of Cochrane. Look for Santa on Mountain Avenue, Pope, Sibbald to Carolina… with a stop at Dewey Park for a few minutes at 6:15pm.
