Yesterday it was announced in a press conference at Cochrane Toyota, that with the arrival of the CP Holiday Train in Cochrane on December 13th, a few local groups had made it their mission to have one of the biggest food drives in town history.
With the holiday train not having stopped in Cochrane since 2018, it is expected that this year’s arrival will draw a big crowd. Why not use this opportunity to ask everyone to bring a non-perishable food item and to help our Cochrane Activettes fill more than 400 hampers this Christmas?
We caught up with Dan Kroffat, local promoter/organizer of the event and Santa’s helper (did we mention that Santa will be there?), to talk about how he envisions the event.
We’ve collaborated with the local Cochrane Chamber of Commerce, Cochrane Toyota, Garmin and Bike Cochrane to help share the word to the word about the event, as well as to encourage their staff and customers to participate. We’re excited about this opportunity to help our community, because this year the need is greater than ever.”
adds local Dan Kroffat
Santa will have a special Elf helping out for the event (Mayor Genung) and Kroffat notes that he also wishes to invite all Newcomers to our community to come down to see the Holiday Train.
