History Live Here – Cochrane Historical Museum opens at the Ranche May 17th

Constructed in 1909 by Thomas Davies for his family (and using bricks from the Collins Brick Yard), the resident physician, Dr. Park, requested that a section of the house serve as a nursing home. Mrs. Davies, alongside her daughter Annie Beynon, a nurse, managed the home until approximately 1915.

What once was Dr. Park’s nursing home (516 2nd Street), a place of care and healing, has been lovingly moved & repurposed into a thriving museum that now serves as a hub for local culture and history at its Cochrane Ranche site. This building, steeped in stories and memories, invites residents and visitors alike to explore its corridors and discover the unique narratives that have shaped our town.

This weekend (May 17th, 2025) the Cochrane Historical Museum at Cochrane Ranche opens their doors for the season. Whether you’re a history buff, a curious tourist, or a family seeking out family-friendly activities, the museum promises to captivate and inspire. Check out the virtual tour here.
