From March 8 to 14, 2026 residents and visitors are invited to experience a week of events that honour Indigenous heritage.
Hosted in partnership with the Cochrane Public Library and Wazin Îchinabi Ti (Wazinti.ca), this annual event brings together artists, knowledge keepers and community members for a week of activities, including art exhibits, storytelling sessions, workshops and performances that highlight the diversity and depth of Indigenous expression.

OPENING RECEPTION
SUNDAY, MARCH 8 – 1pm to 4pm – Location: Wazin Ichinabi Ti, 521 1st Street W. Cochrane. Registration – Drop In.
The kick-off Open House to Indigenous Arts & Culture Week in Cochrane 2026, this year features art exhibit and artists Dennis and Daisynae Labelle, along with a tribute to the late Amber Boyd, former District 4 Captain for the Rocky View Metis District of the Otipemisiwak Metis Government.
WEAVING WORDS & HIDES: INDIGENOUS STORYTELLING EXPERIENCE
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11 – 2pm to 3pm – Location: Cochrane Public Library. Registration required.
CONVERSATIONS & COFFEE: AN ACTOR’S JOURNEY WITH HELMER TWOYOUNGMEN

ELDER’S LUNCH
THURSDAY, MARCH 12 – 12pm – Location: Wazin Ichinabi Ti, 521 1st Street W., Cochrane
Volunteers will be serving lunch and presenting a slideshow of the events and activities that are taking place and have taken place during Indigenous Arts & Culture Week.
INDIGENOUS ARTS & CULTURE WEEK GALA
FRIDAY, MARCH 13 – Doors open at 5pm. Program Starts at 7pm. – Location: Cochrane Lions Event Centre, 109 5th Ave., Cochrane.

SATURDAY, MARCH 14 – 11am to 4pm – Location: Cochrane Lions Events Centre.
FREE ENTRY. Cash donations accepted at the door.
INDIGENOUS ART EXHIBITION
This multi-venue exhibition can be viewed at four locations: Cochrane Public Library, Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery, Wazin Ichinabi Ti and The Station at Cochrane Crossing.
