Cochrane’s annual Jacket Racket event is back for another year. The free community event aims to alleviate the costs associated with seasonal apparel by providing a selection of gently used winter wear for all ages.
This year’s Jacket Racket event will take place on Saturday, October 29 from 10am – 12pm. Those interested in attending are invited to stop by the Cochrane Alliance Church (902 Glenbow Drive) to shop free gently used winter wear and enjoy children’s activities and refreshments. In addition, attendees can choose from the selection of used costumes, just in time for Halloween.
“With the rising cost of everyday living, the Jacket Racket is a critical program that supports Cochrane and area residents,” says Wendy Farnsworth, FRN Family Resource Network Coordinator, Town of Cochrane.
Between October 12 and 26, residents interested in donating their winter and Halloween items can do so by dropping them off at one of the seven donation spots in Cochrane.

“We welcome clean, gently used winter clothing items, including jackets, coats, hats, scarves, mitts, gloves, snowsuits and boots for children, youth and adults,” says Farnsworth. “We are so grateful for the generosity of our community and those who have helped make this event such a great success.”
