Intro to Meditation: For People Who Think They Can’t Meditate

March 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
$30.00

Curious about meditation but unsure where to start? This guided intro is designed for beginners who want a calm, clear approach.
*This event is upstairs, above Polka Dot Creek Yarn Boutique

This gentle, beginner-friendly class is designed for people who are curious about meditation but feel unsure, intimidated, or convinced they’re “bad at it.”

No experience is needed. No special flexibility, beliefs, or ability to sit still for long periods. Chairs are the default, and everything is guided.

In this class, you’ll learn what meditation actually is (and what it isn’t), why a busy mind is not a problem, and how to practice in a way that feels grounded, practical, and accessible. We’ll move slowly, explain everything clearly, and keep practices short and supportive.

This is not about clearing your mind or doing anything “perfectly.” It’s about learning how to notice what’s happening with a bit more ease.

What to expect:

A clear, simple explanation of meditation in plain language
Short, guided meditation practices (3–7 minutes at a time)
Nervous-system-friendly approaches suitable for beginners
Time for reflection and questions (no pressure to share)
Practical tools you can use at home in just a few minutes a day
This class is especially supportive if you:

Feel restless, distracted, or skeptical about meditation
Worry you’ll do it wrong
Have tried meditation before and felt uncomfortable or unsuccessful
Prefer a calm, structured, non-spiritual introduction
You’ll leave with a better understanding of meditation, realistic expectations, and a simple take-home practice you can actually stick with.

Facilitated by Jennifer Heard, Yoga Therapist, with a trauma-informed and mindfulness-based approach.

Come as you are. Curiosity is enough.
