In the coming weeks, a contractor will mobilize to the interchange site and continue the earthworks required to build the Cochrane Interchange loop ramps.
Site preparation will occur on the northeast quadrant to support the upcoming project requirements. Passersby will see contractors grading the area, removing topsoil and constructing the ramp embankments.
“The Town is committed to continuing to work with Alberta Transportation in advancing this project. As commuters make their way back into the office, we are once again seeing some disruptions in our traffic flows. Cochrane residents have demanded an upgrade to our transportation infrastructure. The Town of Cochrane continues to respond to see these upgrades completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

Utility reallocation work has also resumed now that the winter break has ended.
Work is taking place on either side of HWY 22 near RR 43 and Ranchehouse Road and includes excavation of directional drilling pits, for installation of the water and sanitary pipelines beneath the highway.
Alberta Transportation has advised that formal construction of the interchange is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2022.
