Parents are required to attend
Bring:
– Your racing vehicle
– Water bottle
– Indoor shoes
– Be on time for your section’s check-in window
– Review the updated rally rules before race day
– Youth may leave after their race, but are welcome to stay all day.
Beavers (All Beavers race together)
Check-in: 9:30–10:15 AM
Race: 10:15 AM–12:00 PM
Cubs
Check-in: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM
Race: 12:15–2:00 PM
Scouts
Check-in: 1:00–2:00 PM
Race: 2:15–3:45 PM
Sign in at the front entrance table.
Move to the main hall to register your youth and vehicle.
Vehicle will be weighed and photographed.
Make any needed weight adjustments (bring extra weights if needed).
Vehicle is handed to a Scouter and stored until race time.
Only Scouters are allowed in the vehicle area.
When leaving, sign your youth out at the sign-in table.

1st Cochrane Scouts Rally Rules 2026 Beaver Buggies
1. Every Buggy must be a current model – no racing last year’s car.
2. Buggies must be built from official Beaver Buggy kits
3. No other nails for the wheels may be used than those supplied in the kit.
4. Buggies must not exceed an overall weight of 100 grams.
5. Buggies must not exceed an overall length of 7 inches or 180mm. 6. Buggies must not exceed an overall width of 2 3⁄4 inches or 70 mm.
7. Weights or other items added to the bottom of Buggies must be flush with the Buggy bottom to allow clearance between the bottom of the Buggy and the racing track.
8. No suspension system of any kind is allowed.
9. Wheel bearings, washers and bushings are prohibited.
10. Only powdered graphite can be used as lubricant on axles.
11. Buggies can not be altered or lubricated in ANY way after the Buggy has been registered.
12. The minimum distance between the wheels is 1 3⁄4 inches or 4.5 cm
13. Wheel profile (size) must not be changed
14. Each Buggy must pass inspection before it can compete.
15. Only the Beaver Buggy owner can race the Buggy.
16. The judge’s decision is final

2. Trucks must be built from an official 18 wheeler Tractor Trailer kit available from the Scout Shop.
3. Truck specifications are:
– overall length of 44.5 centimeters
– overall width of 8.5 centimeters
– overall height of 11.5 centimeters
– overall mass of the truck can not exceed 1200 grams
4. Weights or other items added to the bottom of Truck must be flush with the Truck bottom to allow clearance between the bottom of the Truck and the racing track.
5. All parts of the truck must be securely fastened
6. Each truck must pass inspection prior to the race
7. Only the Scout owner can race the truck
8. The size of the wheels can not be changed
9. Only powdered graphite can be used as lubricant on axles.
10. No lubricants of any kind can be used after it has been registered
11. Once the truck has been inspected and registered, it can’t be altered in any way
12. The decision of the judges is final
