In Like A Lion…
It would appear that Mother Nature is going to get all riled up over the next few days, leaving us Cochranites (and plenty of other Albertans) with 10 to 20 centimetres of extra snow.
So thanks for that introduction, March.
But what better conditions for Winterfest this Saturday, March 3rd at the AG Society grounds! Bring the family out for a day of winter fun and be sure to take in some Crokicurl!
If the outdoors isn’t your thing on Saturday, pop into the Spray Lakes Sawmill Sports Centre for the return of the Cochrane Farmers Market (3rd, 24th). They’ve taken the market indoors until the weather is ready, so that you can still enjoy your favourite vendors! This will be a fantastic chance to stock your fridge/pantry and to check out the new pool facility too. (Feel free to drop-in for some laps or a skate!)
The Royal Canadian Legion has many things on-the-go this month for both members and non-members, so be sure to review the March calendar if you’re interested in BBQs, card games, shuffleboard, darts etc. Bingo, on Tuesday, March 6 is a more the merrier kind of event so let’s fill the house, while on Saturday, March 24th – LIVE @ the Legion stars a Prime Rib Dinner and Blues/R&B Grammy Award Winner Donald Ray Johnson.
The ASAA Boys & Girls High-School Provincial Championships hit town March 15, 16 and 17th, so we’ll experience our own ‘March Madness’ on the court too! GOOD LUCK TO ALL PARTICIPATING COCHRANE TEAMS!
Also on March 24th, Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park invites you for Earth Hour to Star Night at the Park! Telescopes will be provided for this event, so bring a blanket and the family to watch Jupiter and its moons show off!
And that’s it for March!
If you have an event coming up that you’d like to have UrbanCasual.ca include on its calendar, please fill out the short form HERE.
Let’s hope that March exits a little more ‘like a lamb’ and that we won’t see as many April showers as the story implies, though May flowers sounds quite lovely. Goodness knows we’re all ready for Spring.
