Last week, the Town appointed resident (since 2008) Shawn Polley as Cochrane’s new Fire Chief. Polley started with the Town in 2017 as Deputy Fire Chief where he was assigned the responsibility to lead the day-to-day operations of the fire services programs.

Polley lends over 29 years of emergency service leadership, emergency management, and response experience to his new role; including expertise in building relationships with First Nations, other levels of government, industry and the community as a whole.

Over the last three years, Polley has championed the importance of open, trustworthy communication and consistently modeled leadership through understanding and accountability.

Chief Polley is excited to be taking on his new role in the department and looks forward to working with the citizens of Cochrane, to deliver on the high level of professional service that the Town has always expected.
