DESCRIPTION:Learn to Paint with Stephen Purdy! \nMost of us enjoy the natural landscape\, and sometimes stand in awe of its beauty.\nJoin Stephen as he teaches and shares what he’s learned to help you make a landscape painting you can be proud of! \nThis class is based on the process of painting outdoors\, in which it is essential to develop a strong composition\, designate the appropriate values\, and make the colour sparkle with the life of the scene before your eyes. Outside\, you have a limited time to capture the scene as the light will change. Inside the studio\, this same efficiency will keep your painting fresh. \nThis class is for everyone. Beginner\, Intermediate or Expert. We can all learn from some constructive criticism. The class is structured with demonstrations of each stage of a painting\, followed by individual critiques of each stage of the students’ progress. DESCRIPTION:Sip and Sculpt Fridays! \nJoin Michael Emery for a hands-on soapstone carving workshop. Enjoy some refreshments from our cash bar while you learn the fundamentals of shaping stone and creating a finished sculptural piece! \nParticipants will learn basic carving techniques\, safe material handling\, and simple hand-sanding methods using water to reduce dust. With the ability to choose from a small set of pre-selected shapes and designs\, participants will be able to create a finished sculptural piece.
