Participants will discover how beadwork reflects creativity\, identity\, and tradition while learning techniques to create a personalized beaded bookmark. This activity blends artistry with cultural learning\, offering a meaningful way to connect with Indigenous heritage. \nThis program is open to ages 8 and up. It’s an excellent opportunity to develop new skills\, express creativity\, and gain insight into the stories and traditions carried through beadwork. \nThis event is proudly supported by the Ethnocultural Grant from the Government of Alberta as part of Weaving Connections: Indigenous Culture\, History\, and Healing\, an initiative dedicated to fostering understanding and cultural appreciation.”

DESCRIPTION:Sip and Sculpt Fridays! \nJoin Michael Emery for a hands-on soapstone carving workshop. Enjoy some refreshments from our cash bar while you learn the fundamentals of shaping stone and creating a finished sculptural piece! \nParticipants will learn basic carving techniques\, safe material handling\, and simple hand-sanding methods using water to reduce dust. With the ability to choose from a small set of pre-selected shapes and designs\, participants will be able to create a finished sculptural piece.
