DESCRIPTION:We are so fortunate to present an intimate\, exclusive music therapy showcase presented by our very own Cochrane Mom Walk Mama\, Laura MacLeod\, of Heartland Music & Wellness (a private practice in Cochrane that she recently has opened). \nLaura is an experienced and certified music therapist & counselling therapist. She has a broad range of skill sets and expertise from working with a diverse patient group; from being in the NICU\, to working with elderly with Alzheimer’s\, Laura has touched the lives of many with her practice. \nRaised on a small farm south of Lloydminster\, Alberta\, she has experienced the west of the country at Capilano University in Vancouver for her undergrad in music therapy\, as well as the east of the country attending Concordia University for her masters in music therapy.\nShe has completed training in neurologic music therapy\, level 1 guided imagery in music\, and is a certified NICU music therapist. \nShe is starting up her sessions at her practice in Heartland very soon (on February 11th – register now!)\, and our group is lucky enough to get our own intimate group session where we will experience a showcase of what music therapy is\, and what it can do for us and our littles. \nMusical instrument prize to be won!! 🎶🏆

Classes are offered at the Absolute Beginner\, Beginner and Improver levels between 5:00-8:30 pm (see my website for class details and specific times). Classes are offered in 6-week series so that dancers can learn and progress at their own rate. Classes are relaxed\, moderately paced with lots of practice and review\, and FUN! We dance to a variety of genres of music\, not just country. \nThe next series starts February 24 and continues March 3\, 10\, 17\, 31 (no class March 24) and April 7. I rent the auditorium in the Seniors on the Bow Centre\, but the classes are not just for seniors. My youngest student is 8!
