DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE OUTHOUSE RACES\n\n\nThe Cochrane Outhouse Races will take place in historic downtown Cochrane on September 22nd 2024 where teams from local businesses and organizations push homemade outhouse race carts down First Street\, chuck wagon-style. \n​ \nAll outhouses must have a toilet inside\, four people from the team will push\, and a fifth will ride on the “throne” inside. This year\, only runners can turn the cart; the rider is just along for the ride\, and riders must wear helmets. We welcome any creative interpretations of these basic rules! \n​ \nTo register\, each team contributes a donation\, with all proceeds donated by the Rocky Mountain Rotary Club to local organizations in need. The benefactor each year is announced in advance and recognized at the event itself. \n​ \nThe generosity of our community is remarkable\, making this quirky event a draw for visitors from far and wide\, always bringing laughs and friendly competition. Feel free to grab a spot along the street to get a good view of the action! \n \n11:00 AM Race Event Begins \nThe races kick off with team introductions by our lively MCs. Get ready for some thrilling heats as teams compete to win! \n \n12:00 – 12:30 PM Halftime Entertainment & Raffle \nEnjoy some entertainment while our raffle team engages the crowd. Be sure to participate for a chance to win some great prizes! \n \n1:00 PM (Approx.) Race Finals \nThe best teams from the heats will face off in the final race. Cheer on your favorites! \n \n2:30 PM Event Conclusion \nThe event will wrap up\, and participants will begin to pack up their outhouses. \n \n3:00 PM Roads Reopen \nThe roads will be cleared\, and the event area will return to normal.
