SUMMARY:Cochrane Historical Museum at Cochrane Ranche
DESCRIPTION:Experience the history of Canada’s West through the eyes of settlers\, ranchers\, farmers\, the service and supply businesses\, educators and more at the Cochrane Historical Museum. \nThe Museum is located in the Historic Cochrane Ranche and is housed in a beautiful brick building that has its own rich and vibrant history: it was constructed in 1909 by the Davies family using bricks from the Collin’s Brick Yard — once a thriving local business. It was originally used as a hospital/nursing home as well as a private residence\, and was moved to its current site in 2014 to become the Museum. \nWhen you visit\, you’ll learn about a time when transportation was limited to horse carriages\, buses\, passenger trains and very few cars; ask about the overturned trucks on the main street that used to be the highway through town! \nThe Museum is open spring summer and fall and features new displays every summer. The helpful guides can answer questions about the house and Cochrane and area history. Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted for the Cochrane Historical & Archival Preservation Society (CHAPS). \n  \nWEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY + HOLIDAY MONDAY\, 12PM TO 4PM \nCLOSES AFTER LABOUR DAY WEEKEND

This passive drop in program invites children of all ages to explore the Obie mobile projector\, an engaging educational tool that encourages creative thinking\, problem solving\, and learning through play. \nThe Obie mobile projector offers a wide variety of activities including interactive brain games\, movement based challenges\, skill building experiences\, and playful learning opportunities that appeal to many interests and ages. Children can move\, explore\, discover\, and engage with activities that support curiosity and hands on learning in a fun and welcoming space. \nFamilies and caregivers are welcome to stay and participate at any time throughout the afternoon. Stay for a few minutes or enjoy a longer visit. \nNo registration is required and everyone is welcome to join in. \nThis program is proudly sponsored by Home Treasures. \n\nEvery week on Friday ends on June 26\, 2026\, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
