Due to Cochrane, Alberta being the second fastest growing town in Canada, the list of to-dos continues to grow too!

Below is a list of things to do in Cochrane as of December 31st, 2018.

If you know of something that is missing or needs to be added, feel free to reach out HERE

  1. As you head into town via Highway 1A from Calgary, be sure to stop by the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park for a stroll, bird-watching or a picnic.

  2. Tee off with some mini-golf at the Cochrane Golf Club, or play the course with a view at The Links of GlenEagles.

  3. Drink a pint of Gold Medal Winning ‘Papa Bear Prairie Ale’ at the Half Hitch Brewery.

  4. If BMX racing is your thing, we have a challenging track worth checking out at Cochrane BMX. Non-Members are invited to try out the track as well.

  5. Try your hand at disc golf (frisbee golf) at the new Riverside Park course.

  6. Feel like playing in mud? Hidden Trails ATV Adventures knows exactly where to find the mud!

  7. Visit the Men of Vision bronze statue at the Cochrane Ranche Provincial Park and find the Grandfather Tree too!

  8. The sweet, Raspberry Liquor awaits you at Krang Spirits.

  9. For a night on the town, hit up The Venue Bar & Grill for eats and live bands, before finishing the night off at the Texas Gate Bar & Grill.

  10. Coffee. If you like it, we’ve got it! Try Cochrane Coffee Traders, The Hub Cafe, or The Gentry to get your fix.

  11. Fill up on your favourite candies at the Horsecreek Heritage Candy & Gift Shop, then head to the Spray Lakes Sawmill Family Sports Centre to skate, swim, or climb off the calories!

  12. Do your best kickflip at the Zero Gravity Skatepark.

  13. Check out the comic books & other cool paraphernalia at Rebel Comics.

  14. Pop into the Cochrane Historical Museum at the Cochrane Ranche Provincial Park to learn more about our ranching past. (Summer only, Fri – Sat – Sun)

  15. The Studio West Bronze Foundry & Art Gallery is a unique Cochrane treasure. They specialize in monumental sculptures and even Queen Elizabeth II owns a piece! This is DO NOT miss!

  16. Bring your bikes or take a walk along the river on our fabulous path system (includes a dog park too!). Afterwards, stop into Mackay’s Ice Cream for a scoop!

  17. Pin your best 5 at the Cochrane Lanes bowling alley. Be sure to try the pizza!

  18. Go for an outdoor skate at Mitford Pond.

  19. Last, but certainly not the least… see the latest cinematic films at the Cochrane Movie House.
